San Diego Community Power is a community-driven, not-for-profit public agency providing clean energy to the San Diego region. We serve nearly 1 million customers across six cities and the unincorporated communities of San Diego County.
We purchase energy generated from renewable sources, like solar or wind, which SDG&E then delivers to your home or business.
Community Power is a public agency, meaning we don’t have shareholders. Instead, we reinvest revenues back into our local communities through lower electricity rates, education and customer programs that contribute to our goal of 100% renewable energy for the San Diego region by 2035 or sooner.
At San Diego Community Power, we are working to shape a future for our region that is both sustainable and equitable. To achieve that future, we introduced competition into the local energy marketplace, providing competitively priced clean energy and empowering our local communities with choice.
Since we began serving customers in 2021, Community Power has introduced unprecedented choice into the region, offering customers four different service plans to choose from. To date, we’ve also lowered electricity charges two years in a row so that our customers receive clean energy at the greatest possible value.
Whether it’s through clean energy, competitive pricing or customer programs that support our region’s energy-efficiency goals, Community Power strives to meet the diverse needs of our local communities. And as we continue to power the San Diego region with cleaner energy, our customers and their needs will remain at the center of everything we do.
