What to Know Before You Opt Out
Opting out of Community Power? We’re sad to see you go. Our PowerOn service already beats SDG&E on price. Looking to save even more? PowerBase lowers your electricity generation costs by 5% compared to SDG&E.
Customers who return to SDG&E within 60 days of enrollment in Community Power will be fully returned to SDG&E’s service at the time of the next meter read to occur at least five business days after opting out of Community Power.
Customers who return to SDG&E after 60 days of enrollment in Community Power must pay SDG&E’s one-time customer re-entry fee of $0.56 for each account returning to their service and choose one of the following options SDG&E offers:
Opting out is simple.
You can leave Community Power anytime, free of charge. You’re also free to switch between our mga opsyon sa serbisyo at any time. However, SDG&E requires a 12-month wait before rejoining Community Power.
Timing can affect your options.
If you’ve been a Community Power customer for more than 60 days, SDG&E may place restrictions on returning to their service and re-enrolling in Community Power. Learn more here.
Community Power is not an added cost.
We replace the electric generation portion of your bill—the same charge you’d otherwise pay to SDG&E. Delivery and transmission remain the same.
