San Diego Community Power 任命代理首席执行官 

 SAN DIEGO – San Diego Community Power’s Board of Directors appointed Chief Operating Officer Jack Clark as Acting Chief Executive Officer on Thursday. 

Current Chief Executive Officer Karin Burns is on leave at this time. 

“Since its launch, San Diego Community Power has grown from a startup agency into a stable, trusted public institution delivering meaningful benefits to the communities we serve,” said San Diego Community Power and San Diego County Board Chair Terra Lawson-Remer. “Under Karin’s leadership, the organization is well positioned to continue delivering clean and affordable energy to communities across our region. The entire leadership team has been instrumental in building that strong foundation, and Jack’s leadership at this moment will ensure continued focus on our mission.” 

Clark joined Community Power as Chief Operating Officer in 2023, where he led the organization’s core operational functions rate setting, customer service, community outreach, programs, communications, and government and regulatory affairs. 

“I’m honored by the Board’s trust and the opportunity to serve as Acting CEO,” said Clark. “Community Power has built a strong track record focused on delivering clean, reliable and affordable energy to our communities. I look forward to continuing that work alongside our dedicated staff and public agency partners.” 

Over the last few years, Community Power has achieved significant milestones, including expanding access to competitively priced clean energy options for customers and deepening partnerships with local governments and community-based organizations across the region. 

“San Diego Community Power has built an exceptional team of talented, smart people who are committed to improving the lives of the people we serve,” Burns said. “I am confident that the executive team will lead the organization with clarity and focus.” 

Under Burns’ leadership, Community Power’s accomplishments include: 

  • Expanding service to nearly one million customer accounts across the cities of San Diego, Chula Vista, Encinitas, Imperial Beach, La Mesa and National City and the unincorporated areas of San Diego County – making it the second largest community choice aggregator in the country 
  • Procuring more than 3.4 gigawatts of renewable energy and energy storage capacity 
  • Growing into a financially stable, investment-grade public agency with an “A” credit rating and strong reserves 
  • Delivering cleaner electricity at competitive rates while lowering costs for customers in multiple years 
  • Establishing a robust portfolio of customer programs, rebates, incentives and offers that improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions 
  • Launching and scaling innovative programs such as solar and battery storage initiatives that increase resilience and support the clean energy transition 
  • Investing millions of dollars into community-based organizations, workforce development and local clean energy projects, as part of the organization’s commitment to reinvesting in the communities it serves 

Community Power is a community choice energy program that gives customers an option to run their businesses and homes on significantly higher levels of renewable power at competitive rates. Since 2021, Community Power has grown to serve nearly a million municipal, business and residential power customers in the cities of San Diego, Chula Vista, Encinitas, La Mesa, National City and Imperial Beach as well as the unincorporated communities in the county of San Diego.
