San Diego Community Power is more than an energy provider — we’re a community-driven force for clean energy, local investment and regional solutions. From reducing emissions to reinvesting in neighborhoods, here’s how our impact is growing every day.
Community Power is transforming the way energy works for people, not profits. As a not-for-profit public agency, Community Power gives our local communities control over their electricity. The result? More renewable energy, lower emissions and stronger communities.
Each year, San Diego Community Power reduces greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy. Through long-term power purchase agreements, we’re increasing the amount of solar, wind and other clean resources in our energy mix. Our goal: 100% renewable energy by 2035 or sooner.
Community Power’s commitment to delivering 100% renewable energy by 2035 or sooner also includes a goal of developing 1 gigawatt (GW) of local renewable and clean energy capacity — meaning that renewable projects will be sited in or near the San Diego region.
In August 2024, Community Power, in partnership with the County of San Diego, was authorized to lead the implementation of the San Diego Regional Energy Network. SDREN will facilitate residential and business energy efficiency upgrades, offer workforce training in green careers and work to lower customer bills.
Explore the projects that are helping power the San Diego region with cleaner, greener energy.
