Energy Sources

San Diego Community Power is powering the San Diego region with cleaner energy.

Why Clean Energy Matters

The electricity and heat sectors produce more carbon emissions than any other industry in the world — which is why the adoption of clean energy is so vital to our environment and to the health and well-being of our local communities.

At San Diego Community Power, we’re working hard to achieve our goal of powering the San Diego region with 100% renewable energy by 2035 or sooner. To learn more about our mission, visit our Who We Are page.

We purchase energy from renewable sources, like solar or wind. SDG&E delivers power through their existing powerlines to Community Power customers. To learn more about our service, visit our How It Works page.

What's Your Energy Made Of?

Each year, Community Power publishes a Power Content Label, as required by the California Energy Commission. Like a nutrition label breaks down ingredients, the Power Content Label breaks down the different energy sources — like solar, wind or natural gas — powering your home or business.

Below is an overview of our most recently published Power Content Label. Please note that the data is reflective of our 2024 power mix and also includes the average California utility power mix.
