Opt Out

You’re opting out of San Diego Community Power? We’re sorry to see you go, because you’ll be missing out on some program benefits we think are pretty important.

SDCP is your only option to have a voice in your energy service. And it’s a not-for-profit energy provider that reinvests revenues into the communities we serve, instead of paying shareholder profits. We remove shareholders from the equation, because we believe that the only people who should benefit from your electricity use is you!

It’s because so many customers like you have enrolled in programs exactly like ours that new renewable energy projects are being built right now all over the state of California—to satisfy their increased demands for clean energy. Together we’re working towards a clean energy future.

You have the right to opt out from SDCP at any time and you will not be charged any fees by SDCP if you opt-out or if you cancel electric service altogether. If you do decide to return to SDG&E after the 60-day opt out period, SDG&E will charge a one-time account processing fee. You will also be prevented by SDG&E from returning to San Diego Community Power for a minimum of twelve months.

If you’d still like to opt out of our service, our Municipal customers enrolled on March 1 can use the form below. If you’re a Commercial customer you can opt out starting April 2021, and our Residential customers will need to wait until just prior to their service launching in early 2022.

There is no rush to opt out – you may do so at any time after your service is scheduled to begin with us.

Please have your bill handy. You’ll need your account number to opt out.
